Lately I have been seeing more and more examples of cutting edge sites built on Drupal. Here are some of the best places to look to get an idea for what this versatile tool can produce.
My favorite magazine, FAST COMPANY just went to a completely collaborative online model with a great redesign and a full suite of community features using Drupal. Check it out.
Another that I really like for both design and functionality that is high profile is Mozilla’s Spread Firefox site
Of course the ultimate example of the fully featured, highly trafficked Drupal site has always been the ever hilarious periodical, The Onion.
The other day I stumbled across a cool site that tracks and rates the top Drupal sites and was surprised to see how many are popping up everyday.
Lately another site that has attracted a lot of attention outside the official Drupal community is a site that does a similar thing for modules.
For high profile organizations, I found that Amnesty International was using Drupal for this site and this site which showcases a nicely designed FLASH interface.
And, just purely for the cool factor I cant resist slipping in one of our own (shameless plug) for Official XBOX Magazine Online
Keep your eyes out for more as this tool becomes the #1 community oriented tool on the web.

Jeff,
probably far from your most favorite site, but very high-profile and loads of traffic:
http://perezhilton.com
P.S. Please don’t ask me how I know this site ;)
Leo Laporte's Twit.tv website is built on Drupal as well.
XBOX Magazine on Drupal! This is great. This adds to a suite of game related sites using Drupal including: http://asia.playstation.com/eng_hk/index.php, http://rockband.com, and http://linerider.com.
Please consider writing up a case study and posting to http://drupal.org/cases

You have mentioned DrupalSites and DrupalModules sites.
There is another one, for Drupal Themes: Drupal Theme Garden.
